Insurance Charities Awareness Day 2021
The week commencing the 21st June is the Insurance Charities Awareness Week (#ICAW) which is a time when we always try to promote and support the work that the Insurance Charities do in helping insurance across the UK and Ireland in times of needs.
Usually the Insurance Institute of Leeds runs a raffle to raise much needed funds for both the Insurance Charities and our President's chosen Charity of the year. Once again we are facing the Annual charity week, without being able to visit offices in fancy dress (some may say this a blessing). We are therefore looking at running the Annual raffle a different way.
We will still be running our annual raffle but we will be asking members to make donations using our online Virgin Giving Page - https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/IILPresident and we will then allocate raffle ticket numbers on the usual basis of £2 per number.
After you've made your donation please email our Charities Chair on stacey.roadnight@jmginsurance.co.uk and she will allocate you your Raffle Numbers. At the end of the Charities week we will draw our winners using a random number generator.
Our great prizes are now confirmed:
- Zurich have provided a bottle of 10 year old Jura Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
- Attis Insurance Brokers have provided 6 Edwards Potato Vodka Gift Sets including Cocktail Shakers and Accessories (see picture)
- Direct Line Group have provided a £100 Amazon Voucher
- Chubb have provided a £100 Drink and Dine Voucher for for Angelica, Issho, East 59th, or Crafthouse
- Coach Gyms on Kirkstall Road (https://coachgyms.co.uk/) have donated a months pass for their Gym.
- Highridge HR Consultancy and their partners have donated 2 Workplace and Agile EQ DISC profiles worth £200 each. The winner of this prize can use the profiles to see comparison between them and the other person (hopefully a firm) and how it can impact on behaviours with work, leadership and other things.
If your business would like to run internal collections and make one donation on the website then we're happy for you to run things that way as well, just email with details of everyone that needs a ticket assigning to them.

The Insurance Charities is the only charity in the UK and Ireland solely supporting past and present employees in the insurance industry and their dependants who are experiencing financial hardship. The theme of the week for the Insurance Charities is wellbeing and they'll be sharing videos and content on Financial, Emotional, Physical and Social Wellbeing as we go through the week. As many of you will know fundraising for The Insurance Charities is particularly close to our hearts as our Charities Chair Stacey Roadnight as they helped her family when they were in need.
Our President's charity of the year is Touchstone who are a charity primarily working in South Leeds who support large numbers of vulnerable people who might otherwise be left isolated and distressed. They provide a huge range of mental health and wellbeing services to over 2000 people a year and also work to help communities to support themselves moving forwards.
