The number of Appointed Representatives (ARs) in the commercial insurance broking market has increased significantly in recent years. This has opened up exciting opportunities for ambitious new businesses or existing businesses keen to grow through the appointment of self-employed professionals.
This talk will examine the reasons for the growth in the number of AR’s, the challenges of supervising and monitoring an AR and the regulatory issues that need to be managed.
Who should attend? This lecture is targeted towards insurance brokers who have or are considering taking on ARs; and insurance professionals who want to learn about this emerging distribution model

Biography of speaker
Paul Coates has worked at Gauntlet for 14 years. As a Director at Gauntlet his main responsibility is the development and growth of their Appointed Representative network which is now seen as one of the UK’s leading commercial insurance AR networks.
Paul will be supported by Nigel Law who joined Gauntlet 2 years ago with the responsibility for recruiting new AR’s having worked in the insurance industry for 44 years and held positions as Regional Manager/Director at 3 insurers and MD/ Director at 3 sizeable insurance brokers

Registrations made followed by none attendance will be subject to a charge of £10 in order to cover catering costs.
