A 3 hour workshop to improve understanding of Diversity and Inclusion and how to ensure that is a part of your workplace practice’s in your business.
Timings: 8.45am for reception and refreshments. Workshop to begin at 9.15am.
Diversity and Inclusion is a hot topic for UK business generally and the insurance profession specifically. However too many people either do not understand it fully, do not understand it at all or do not understand how to ensure that diversity and inclusion is a natural part of an organisation’s culture, practices and relationships which support a diverse workforce and cater for all types of customer. In simple terms, diversity is the mix; inclusion is getting the mix to work well together.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:
-understand which groups of people experience discrimination
-see the relationship between diversity and power and how exclusion manifests itself in employment, access to crucial products and services etc.
-examine the make- up of your staff teams and customer base in terms of diversity
-understand what barriers exist to a more inclusive workforce and customer base
-gain an "easy read" introduction on how having a diverse workforce and customer base would highlight this
Speaker Biography
Philipa Bragman is the CEO of the charity CHANGE a Leeds based market-leading charity and an expert in human rights. Philipa has worked as the CEO of CHANGE for over 22 years and during that time has become a highly respected figure in her field both nationally and internationally. She has worked with many types of professionals and organisations worldwide, such as government departments, third sector organisations, and health and social care professionals.
