Harrogate Lecture: Escape of Water
Slides available to download
Registration from 12.15, lunch from 12.30, lecture start 1pm to finish at 2pm.
A key issue facing the industry today is escape of water. Whilst there are many factors involved, these losses are increasing, with the ABI confirming that last year alone insurers paid out some £930m in claims. The average cost of these claims has also increased 40% since 2014. Escape of water claims may not get the headlines that come with other perils, such as fire and flood, but they are still devastating for those who suffer and have to move out of their homes, or relocate their business as a result.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the presentation delegates will have a broad understanding of:
• the extent the problem of escape of water poses for the whole industry
• what the main causes of escape of water are
• how technology can be used to help resolve and prevent escape of water claims
