CPN Event: Joint Webinar event with Leeds Law School regarding COVID-19 and Employment Law

Online
Thursday, 23 April 2020
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Jodie Hill, Thrive Law

On 23 March 2020, the Prime Minister announced that the UK was going into ‘lockdown’, that we should all stay at home and only go outside for exercise (once per day), or to get food or medicine. Only those with ‘key worker’ status or those unable to work from home, are permitted to leave the confines of their homes and travel to work. All non-essential businesses were closed and this has had a dramatic effect on employees around the country. Whilst some have been able to transition from the office to working from home, many have been ‘furloughed’ with others losing their jobs altogether. As the full effects of the lockdown playout and the long-term economic effects become clear, when the coronavirus-crisis is over we will certainly be in a very different world to the one we were living in.

Many of these changes have an employment law aspect to them and Leeds Law School, in conjunction with the Collaborative Professionals Network, is delighted that Jodie Hill, Managing Partner of Thrive Law, who is also one of our employment law lecturers, has agreed to host this webinar on coronavirus and its associated human resource and employment law issues.

The webinar will cover:
-Home working
-Furlough
-Health and safety
-Changes to sick pay
-Mental health at work
