This seminar will look at the Charity and Community Insurance market, explain the different types of organisation in this sector and identify the overall market size and profile. In particular, it will cover the following key learning objectives:
• Market facts and figures
• Specific Underwriting considerations including safeguarding, use of volunteers, fundraising, and the provision of advice and services
• Common Structures and the role and duties of Trustees
Martyn Turner has worked at Ecclesiastical for 29 years in various underwriting and account management roles. He has specific expertise in the Casualty classes of business. He was a member of the Voluntary Sector Insurance Group established by the ABI and has also provided technical support to the Charity Commission in the development of its Insurance Guidance to Charities. Martyn is Faith Director at Ecclesiastical.
Phil Duffy has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry and specialised in commercial, charity and care underwriting with Sun Alliance, AIG (UK) and Markel, before joining Ecclesiastical in 2011. He now specialises in Professional Indemnity and Trustee Liability Insurance as an Underwriting Consultant.
