Mercure Leicester The The Grand Hotel
Wednesday, 04 October 2017
12:15 pm – 1:45 pm (UK time)
    • Emily Clift, Kennedys Law

Overview:

Brexit is a quickly-changing and little-understood issue, and insurance professionals in regional and national markets are faced with the difficulty of interpreting the changing risks for their own books of business. Kennedys has been monitoring the reaction of the insurance industry, and has presented views of the insurance industry on Brexit to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Insurance and Financial Services. The presentation begins with an introduction to Brexit, and covers some key issues for businesses generally and for insurance businesses.

Learning Points:

• Gain a basic understanding of what Brexit is, as a legal and constitutional issue;
• Bring yourself up to date with the latest Brexit news;
• Gain practical tools to assess and adapt to the day-to-day changes which Brexit is likely to have on regional insurance professionals
• Understand the implications of the recent decision from the Supreme Court ruling on triggering Article 50;
• Know what to expect as we approach the deadline for triggering Brexit at the end of March 2017.
