This event is kindly sponsored by Aspects Insurance Recruitment Limited
Synopsis
Often seen as a "dark art", and always less tangible than being able to produce invoices for physical items lost, Angus will deliver this training session on Business Interruption drawing from his experience across major and complex, engineering, and cyber claims at Crawford and Company.
Angus will cover the following objectives during this event:
Typical policyholder attitudes shown to Business Interruption insurance and the role the broker plays in overcoming problems arising from these.
Recognise the information required to set up Advanced Business Interruption covers and understand the underwriting reasons why this is needed.
Essential features that have a bearing on the setting of the Maximum Indemnity Period with examples to show how some businesses may require different considerations.
The range of extensions available with discussion on how these can be selected to provide appropriate cover for a client/Trade.
New Developments in Business Interruption; Business Interruption for cyber losses.
Interesting BI Claims issues experienced by Crawford & Company and lessons learnt for brokers.
Your Speaker:
Angus is a Business Interruption Adjuster and Cyber Incident Manager for the global claims management company, Crawford & Company.
Having trained and qualified as an accountant in the Army, he 'retired' from service as a Captain five years ago and has worked in insurance and risk management since then with loss adjusters GAB Robins, the accountancy firm RSM (formerly Baker Tilly), and now Crawford & Company.
Since joining Crawford & Company, Angus has specialised in the adjustment of Business Interruption claims for a wide variety of clients on losses in excess of £100,000. In particular, the adjustment of renewable energy and other engineering claims. As part of this role, Angus provides regular training sessions on Business Interruption to colleagues, brokers, and insurers.
Angus is also part of the Crawford & Company cyber incident management team, which aims to assist policyholders who are experiencing a cyber incident with more immediacy than traditional claims adjustment processes would allow.
