Overview
Warren will cover why the Pool Re scheme still exists and how it is changing to meet the modern threat.
He will explain how to go about underwriting a risk that can’t be approached in a conventional manner and how this differs from other low probability, high severity events. The event will also cover how terrorism might further develop in the future and how Pool Re is responding to the changing nature of the threat.

• Examine why supported pooling mechanisms continue to be necessary
• Consider recent terrorist events in UK 2017 and how these illustrate the dynamic nature of the risk.
• Understand how terrorism can be modelled and how Pool Re/cover is evolving in the face of the changing nature of threat
Your Presenter:
Warren is the Claims Manager at Pool Re, having been with the company since 2009. Warren is responsible for delivery of the company’s claims strategy; overseeing the preparation and resilience of the insurance claims market against UK terrorism events, as well as technical control and settlement of UK terrorism reinsurance claims.
With over 30 years in the insurance claims sector, Warren has extensive technical claims knowledge across a broad range of property claim disciplines, as well as experience in operational claims management, staff management and strategic business planning.
Warren has held positions from Loss Adjusting with various international companies to claims management at Chubb Insurance. Warren is a past regional Chairman of the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Southern Africa, and a past President of the London Business Interruption Association, and active presenter at lectures, conferences and seminars.
