Tax - A Topical case Study

This session will involve a case study to highlight the important tax / NIC changes that will affect business clients over the next couple of years and look at appropriate ways to address these issues.

It will also refresh your understanding of IHT, Chargeable Events, Deeds of variation.

- To consider appropriate planning for such clients

- To consider important inheritance tax planning for people inheriting assets

- To look at the inheritance tax and other tax planning issues involved with purchase of a second property

- To understand the traps involved in chargeable event gain taxation

- To look at effective IHT planning using a deed of variation

Speaker - Nick Edwards, Director Trustee Support Services Limited

Nick has over 40 years’ experience in financial services. He is a Fellow of the PFS and a Chartered Financial Planner. He is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (ChFCSI), a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Certified Financial Planner.

Nick is a director of Trustee Support Services Limited, a company set up to assist trustees with the registration of trusts on the Trust Registration Service and to provide trustees with bespoke consultancy services.

Nick also runs his own consultancy, Consultniks Limited, providing financial planning, technical and marketing consultancy services to IFAs, product providers, support providers and others. He also supplies specialist, bespoke training.

When not doing financial services work during winter, Nick can be found in the French Alps.
