(GI) How contract conditions can change the liability of an insured and why brokers must advise clients on this

  • Tue 22 Feb 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Online
    • Alan Chandler

Many policyholders sign contracts without realising they are potentially exposing themselves to liabilities that are not covered by their insurances. Often these contracts are signed in order to either win business or obtain key supplies, either way they are extending their liability beyond the potential protection provided by the liability insurer. Alan Chandler, one of the most popular presenters in the UK, will explore what Public and Products liability policies normally cover and what the position is at law when the policyholder extends their liability beyond this by signing certain contracts. The webinar will include exploring the consequences of the Insurance Act 2015 for failing to make a fair presentation of risk with regards to contract conditions, and how failure to guide policyholders around this matter could lead to a claim being turned down and all cover cancelled.

  • Online
    • Charity - Show Racism The Red Card

Show Racism the Red Card is the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity. It was established in January 1996, thanks in part to a donation by then Newcastle United goalkeeper Shaka Hislop. In 1990s Newcastle, Shaka was at a petrol station near St James Park when he was confronted with a group of young people shouting racist abuse at him. This interactive workshop, hosted by charity Show Racism The Red Card, features a range of thought provoking topics and discussion points that will enable individuals to start a journey of self-reflection based on their current values and beliefs. Delegates will also be encouraged to consider how their cultural and social experiences may have helped develop any unconscious bias within their own worldview. This 60 minute session will dive deep into three key areas: - Barriers to Equality and The Role of Unconscious Bias - The Language of Equality: Reflecting on the Power of Language - Anti- Racism and The Black Lives Matter Movement There will also be a Q&A at the end of the workshop. This webinar, provided by Alan Chandler one of the most popular presenters in the UK, will examine the difference between a soles trader, a partnership, a limited liability partnership, a private limited company and a public limited company.
