2017 Annual Dinner
Breaking with tradition and inspired by Sandy Scott former CEO of The Chartered Insurance Institute, Mrs Lucy Higgins President of the Insurance Institute of Liverpool presented a new format for the 2017 Annual Dinner.
There was no opportunity for guesses to be made on the length of the speeches this year as they came before the dinner. Guests were impressed with the depth, insightfulness and humour of the speeches.
Mr Robb Gibbs (RSA Motability Director) gave the guests at the Crowne Plaza Liverpool, a vision of the future and what we all should be doing to keep pace with change.
Mr Branco Bjelobaba entertained the guests with his response to Mr Robb Gibb’s speech.
Mrs Lucy Higgins President of the Liverpool Insurance Institute Proposed the toast to the guests.
Grace was given by the Reverend Dr C Pailing, Rector of Liverpool.
After dinner, two awards were made:
The Young Achiever of the year was awarded to Ms Bethany Lavin of Aviva . This was for her significant contribution to the Liverpool Institute during 2016. Bethany was a remarkable candidate and has been recognised for her support to the Liverpool Insurance Institute, her examination success and recent secondment to Perth.
The Exceptional Service award was given to Mrs Marie McAnulty of Griffiths & Armour. Marie has served on Council for 13 years as President and Secretary. She has also served on the Careers Committee and was our Treasurer for over 10 years She has made an exceptional contribution to the Insurance Institute.

The evening concluded with the entertainer Steven Charles who wowed guests with songs from his very wide repertoire followed by a Disco.
