Financial Careers Insight day at John Moores University on 25th October.

The Insurance Institute of Liverpool held their first Financial Careers Insight day at John Moores University on 25th October. This was organised jointly with the CISI who have a close relationship with the university.
Students at the John Moores Business School heard from various financial professionals about what they do, their typical day and routes into the careers available. Tracey Fischer, our current President spoke about the wide range of careers opportunities in insurance and the benefits of CII Discover Membership. Jonathan Murphy and Tom Calland, two local paraplanners presented on Financial Planning as a career choice and several CISI members spoke about their roles in Investment Management.
The presentations were followed by a networking session where students had the opportunity to quiz the various professionals about what they do. The day was a success, students were engaged and very interested. Many said it had opened their eyes to the many careers they didn’t even know existed.
Liverpool council members are looking forward to arranging similar events with the CISI in the future, following the success of this one.
