Annual Luncheon & Prizegiving 2019
The Hotel was the historic Head Office of the Royal Insurance Company and was built in 1896-1903.
Emma Lynch, Insurance Institute of Liverpool’s President and Joseph Carr, Education Secretary were hosts to 55 members who all enjoyed a delicious three course lunch.
The Lunch celebrated the success of exam candidates during 2018 and in addition four very well deserved awards were presented:
• Kenneth Griffiths prize for best subject completion in 2018 in Advanced Diploma in Insurance
Awarded to: Russell Smith from MD Insurance Services Limited
• Best Completion of the 2018 Diploma in Insurance
Awarded to Sam Heard from MD Insurance Services Limited
• Best Completion in 2018 of the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning
Awarded to: Andrew Bailey
• Best Completion in 2018 of the Diploma in Financial Planning
Awarded to Andrew Brownless
Following the presentation of the awards, guests were delighted to welcome speaker, Graham Gordon, from LexisNexis Risk Solutions.
Graham presented extremely thought provoking statistics on how that little black box in a car has evolved and how accidents have reduced dramatically over all age groups. Knowing that your breakage, speed and fuel consumption is being monitored and checked enables behaviour that helps cars' performance and reduces accidents. Graham’s passion for telematics was triggered by four friends that all died in separate accidents, all before they were twenty years of age. It is his belief that if the technology available now was available then, there may have been very different outcomes.
A special thanks to our sponsors; Griffiths and Armour, RSA, Sedgwick, Pavis Financial Management, QM Costs, Stackhouse Poland for their support. Without them this event would not be possible.
