CII's ‘Building Public Trust awards shortlist Insurance Institute of Liverpool

We are delighted to announce that the Insurance Institute of Liverpool has been shortlisted in the ‘Classroom to Boardroom Initiative’ category of this year’s CII Building Public Interest Awards for its unique annual careers day. The LII is proud of the work it does with local schools and colleges to highlight the various career opportunities in Insurance and Financial Planning, support social mobility, and to enable the sectors to ‘give something back’ to future generations. The local Institute’s 2019 careers day was the culmination of much hard work by the LII Careers Committee, enabling students from a number of schools and colleges across the region to take part in a day of educational activity. Events included taking part in the Discover Risk and Discover Fortune games, facilitated by local practitioners, as well as hearing from current graduates, apprentices and recruiters and a Q&A session with representatives from a number of local financial services organisations. The feedback from the day was very rewarding and proved we had achieved our aims of raising awareness in Insurance & Financial Planning, and highlighting why students should consider careers in these fields.
Current President Emma Lynch will be attending the Awards evening on 12 March so fingers crossed she brings the award home to Liverpool! Watch this space!
