Hard work on council pays off with a Chief Executive Award!
We are extremely pleased to report that one of our council members, James Almond, has recently been recognised by his company for his contributions to council by winning a Chief Executive Award.
James won the category of community and diversity for his work on council which includes speaking to local university and sixth form students on what a career in insurance can offer. He was also recognised for his positive contributions to the communications committee and the launch of the e-newsletter which helps us engage with members and promote the work of the council.
James said of his award “I’m thrilled and overawed being a Chief Executive Award winner, I have a lot to be thankful for in my career, but the opportunities presented by the council have really allowed me to flourish and push myself at a variety of levels. To receive this recognition from my employer is the icing on the cake in what has been a fantastic 2021 for me professionally and personally. Thanks to those on council and my employer who have been my biggest supporters!”
President Joe Carr added: “James has been on council for a short period of time and proven himself to be an enthusiastic, talented and valuable member. James has digitalised the communication process and spearheaded a collaborative project with Prestige Recruitment. He’s extremely personable and goes out of his way to help others. It’s no surprise that James has been acknowledged by his employers, but no less impressive. I’m confident that there will be many more acknowledgements to come over the years. The Insurance Institute of Liverpool is lucky to have James and I look forward to working alongside him going forward”.
Council members are volunteers who give up their spare time and show endless dedication and energy to ensure the smooth running of their local institutes. It is because of these volunteers that CII members see the added benefits they get from their membership, such as locally run CPD events, social events, awards and annual dinners. It is therefore great to see one of our council members being recognised by their employer for all of their hard work and effort… Congratulations James and well done on the award!
