Annual Luncheon and Prizegiving
Andy's story started with losing his Mum to leukaemia aged just twelve years of age. He joined the Marines age seventeen and served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. After a very serious explosion where he was injured extensively he worked through years of intensive rehabilitation and bravely chose to have his leg amputated to achieve a better quality of life.
Andy has achieved amazing success competing at the Invictus Games and winning a gold medal!! He has climbed some of the highest mountains in the world and has become the fastest single leg amputee in the World of 10km. Thankfully the lights had been dimmed for the presentation as a tear or two was shed by guests.
Andy detailed how he was able to turn his significant emotional and physical loss into a catalyst for his future success and how he was able to covert the lessons he’s learnt into motivational tools. These tools can be used by others to help their daily decision making and help them to manage pressures that more effectively.
Not only are Andy’s achievements inspirational but he was is a truly motivational and engaging speaker. His powerful story wowed everyone attending the lunch.
