This event will provide an overview of the ombudsman service, touching on its role, jurisdiction and workload and looking in greater depth at how it works with both businesses and consumers to settle complaints and resolve disputes - so that both sides can move on.

1.The ‘theory’ of the ombudsman – its position and role

2.How complaints are handled – process and possible outcomes

How the ombudsman can help businesses resolve complaints themselves
