Invitation: FREE Insurance and Financial Services Careers Event

The UK insurance sector is the 3rd largest in the world with many opportunities for young people leaving school, college or university. It employs over 315,000 people in the UK, across a vast range of client-facing and back-office technical roles and support jobs like IT, marketing, HR and finance.

Far from just being about cars, houses and holidays, the sector manages a hugely diverse range of risks around the world, from climate change to cyber crime, from political risk to footballers’ legs and from skyscrapers to space satellites.

The financial planning sector plays a crucial part in helping people secure their financial future. From Premier League footballers and CEOs to pensioners and young professionals, a huge number of people benefit from financial planning in their life.

We would like to invite you and your students to join us for an Insurance and Financial Services Careers Event in Liverpool City Centre.

It will be an exciting day showcasing how the insurance sector manages risk and creates products that let people get on with their lives; and how the financial planning sector lets people plan for a successful financial future.

The free event will open at 9.30am for registration with an 10.00am start and will close at 3.30pm. Lunch will be provided. The afternoon will include our interactive Discover Risk and Discover Fortunes team competitions which bring the sectors to life and test students’ employability skills.

There will be apprentices on hand to discuss their experiences, as well as key industry experts to talk about their careers so far.

Aimed at Year 11-13s, the event has something for all students, whatever they are studying.

Please respond to Liverpoolinstitute@cii.co.uk by Friday 10th June confirming whether your school or college would be interested in attending, plus an estimate of the number of students. We will then send you further details including the full programme and joining instructions.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on liverpoolinstitute@cii.co.uk or 0151 478 1028.

Can you help?

The day will include two exciting sessions showcasing how the insurance sector manages risk and creates products that let people get on with their lives; and how the financial planning sector lets people plan for a successful financial future.
For each of these sessions, we need volunteers from both Financial Services and Insurance to support the young people to undertake our interactive Discover Risk and Discover Fortunes team competitions which bring the sectors to life and test students’ employability skills. The activities will provide you with the opportunity to be involved for either the whole day or part of the day depending upon your availability. No experience required, just enthusiasm and a desire to give something back to the young people attending! If you would like to be involved or would like more information, please can you contact us on liverpoolinstitute@cii.co.uk or 0151 478 1028.
