This networking opportunity gives us the chance to enjoy a superb three course meal and celebrate the achievements of the 2017 examination candidates.

Guest Speaker: Andy Grant

Andy's story starts with losing his Mum to leukaemia aged just 12. Joining the Marines at 17, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Being shot at and then eventually blown up. Going though 2 years of rehab before eventually choosing to amputate his leg for a better quality of life. Since the amputation Andy has competed at the Invictus games and won gold, climbed some of the highest mountains in the world and became the fastest single leg amputee in the world of 10km.

Andy will tell the story of his life so far. How he overcame the untimely death of his mother at a young age, his experiences in the Royal Marines serving his country and the incident which led to him being in an induced coma and then having to decide to have one of his legs amputated.

Andy then went on to become the fastest single leg amputee in the world.

He will explain that life will put you in all kinds of challenging situations, but it need not determine you as a person – it’s how you react to these challenges.
