In this session, Paul will discuss the route to becoming a Certified Financial Planner professional and how this compliments the PFS Chartered Financial Planner qualification. He will present his award-winning case study and explain the principles involved in preparing and presenting a financial plan that meets the CFP assessment criteria. He will also focus on cash flow forecasting; highlighting the central role it plays in holistic financial planning, but also exploring its limitations.

- To understand the structure of the Certified Financial Planner certification and the assessment process;
- To understand how a candidate should approach the case study and the steps involved in preparing a financial plan that meets the assessment criteria;
- To identify how useful cash flow forecasting is the construction of a financial plan but also understand its limitations.
About the speaker
Paul is both a Chartered Financial Planner and a Certified Financial PlannerTM Professional, as well as an affiliate of STEP. He won the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment’s CFP of The Year Award for 2020. He has worked in financial services for 17 years, spending the last 11 years as a financial planner at the Financial Planning Corporation LLP in Ainsdale, providing a holistic financial planning service to high net worth business owners and professionals.
