View event detailsIIL Games Final Round – Online Quiz
The Insurance Institute of Liverpool held their final round of the IIL Games with an online quiz night. This was to be the decider of the IIL Games 2019/2020! The finale was originally due to be a ten-pin bowling competition but unfortunately it was cancelled at the last minute due to COVID-19. The Games had to be finished one way or another, so we embraced the virtual world and held an online quiz with our excellent quiz masters Charlie Mahoney and Sarah Jennings hosting it via Zoom. After 5 rounds and a total of 50 questions, Weightmans were the winners of the evening! BIBA were a close second and Arthur J Gallagher and Barnett Waddingham finished joint 3rd. Here is the league table from the evening… Position Team Average Score Team Points 1 Weightmans 41 40 2 BIBA 36.5 25 3 AJG 34.66 20 3= Barnett Waddingham 34.66 20 5= QM Legal Costs 33.5 16 5= DWF 33.5 16 7 Pavis 29.75 12 8 Sedgwick 29.66 10 9 G&A 1 28.66 8 So what did that mean for the overall IIL Games league table?... …Drum roll please… WEIGHTMANS ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE 2020/21 IIL GAMES! Position Team Points 1 Weightmans 74 2 QM Legal Costs 55 3 BIBA 46 4 Barnett Waddingham 42 5 AJG 41 6 DWF 31 7 Pavis 28 8 G&A1 22 9 Sedgwick 20 10 G&A2 13 11 RSA 0 Weightmans therefore earn local bragging rights! QM Legal Costs and BIBA finished 2nd and 3rd. Each of the winners get to choose a charity of their choice so that the Insurance Institute of Liverpool can make a donation on their behalf. A huge thank you to everyone who took part this year and a great effort from all teams involved. It has been somewhat of an eventful IIL games this time round… a very tense pool competition, a frenzied round of crazy golf, a general election falling on the same night as the Christmas quiz, a cancelled bowling night and the Games almost ending prematurely due to COVID, and finally the Insurance Institute of Liverpool’s first ever online quiz! We look forward to when things start to return back to normal and we can get the IIL Games up and running again. Hopefully we will see you all again soon!
