Annual Golf Day

On the 23rd of September the Luton and St Albans Insurance Institute held its annual golf day.

Having played Luton Hoo for the past few years a change of venue was suggested and Mill Green Golf Club near Hatfield hosted this years golf day. The course didn't let us down and the greens were in excellent condition.

We were very pleased to have the sponsorship of prizes by NIG and Allianz Insurance. A big thank you to Stewart Anderson of NIG and Steve Wells OF Allianz for your support.

A total of 27 golfers were in attendance and the weather didn't disappoint with a warm sunny afternoon.

As always the golf was of varying standards which brought into question the "self certified" handicaps of a few of the golfers.

The winner of the day was Phil Bass from Intellectus Insurance who scored 42 points (16 handicap) with John Bassett of NIG coming second with 38 points (28 handicap).

The team prize was won by NIG with a mammoth 97 points with an impressive 55 points being scored on the back 9.

Longest drive was won by Scott Covington and Paul Staines picked up the nearest to the pin.
