Annual General Meeting 18th April 2016

The Annual General Meeting of the Insurance Institute of Luton & St. Albans was held on 18th April at the Sun Hotel in Hitchin.

After being President for a record four terms, this was the opportunity to thank Chris Lowe for leading an extremely successful year.

Branko Bjelobaba has now received the presidential badge of office and with Graham Williams they will lead the local institute for the next 12 months. Branko's dedication to Luton & St. Albans is legendary, having joined Council in 1991 he has held several roles, including President on two separate occasions as well as having served as CII National Vice President for six years. His enthusiasm and energy will ensure we continue to improve our offering in the coming year and to welcome many more members to our events.

We also congratulate Clare Surgeon and Michael Brett who have taken on the roles of Education Secretary and Young Professional Leader respectively.

We welcome Nicola Wilson as a new Council member too.

The Officers submitted their reports in advance and there was the opportunity to reflect on the enhanced CPD programme we offered to our members in 2015/6. Our programme included regulatory, technical general insurance and PFS specific workshops with some excellent high level industry speakers.

Feedback has been consistently excellent with many events full to capacity. For a small institute we provided members with almost 26 hours of CPD which was a record

The AGM minutes can be found here and they include all the Officers reports and are well worth a read. It is not too late. If you want to get involved with Council and be part of a great team, have any good ideas, or require any further information, please contact our secretary David Korn at lutoncii@hotmail.com
