Stephen has nearly 20 years’ experience of developing solutions to financial crime across a variety of private sectors including Travellers cheques, credit card and insurance fraud. In 2010 he joined the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), the insurance industry’s non-profit body committed to tackling organised cross sector insurance fraud. As the Head of Intelligence for the IFB Stephen’s role is to manage the IFB's reactive intelligence services, the delivery of the insurance industry’s national fraud reporting service “Cheatline” and the IFB’s intelligence sharing arrangements with law enforcement, regulators and other public sector bodies. This position is also responsible for the management of the IFB’s quarterly intelligence forums and the IFB’s SPOC training programme.
Stephen is a regular speaker at industry events and forums. He is the chair of the Industrial Disease Fraud Forum, a member of the Insurance Fraud Bureau’s Technical Board, the National Roads Police Intelligence Forum, and a board member for the Cabinet Office Counter Fraud Checking Service project.
