Overview:

We are honoured to secure one of the UK's most influential speakers on general insurance broking compliance matters - David Sparkes from BIBA.

David will update us on key FCA initiatives and BIBA's stance being the most significant trade body in this space and enjoying a key influential relationship with the FCA.

BIBA has made massive strides in recent years to represent brokers at the highest level within the FCA so do come along to hear what is in store for 2017.

Speaker Biography:

David has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and since 2002 has focused on insurance broking compliance.During that time David led a group's firms through FSA authorisation, as well as providing technical compliance advice to over 150 firms, from the international to the very small, on UK regulations.

David is able to bring a 'regulatory mindset' to his role at BIBA (which he took up in August 2013) having spent a number of years at the Financial Services Authority where he focused on insurance broker supervision.

Learning objectives:

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
• Identify some of the latest developments from the FCA;
• Understand some of the expectations on firms in these areas;
• Identify key EU developments that will affect our industry.
