PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE WORKSHOP

This course will be run by Graham Williams BA ACII PGC GCILEX PGCE Graham is a director of Intralex Ltd. He has worked for over 30 years in the insurance industry, providing training and consultancy services throughout the UK and on the rare occasion, abroad. Graham has worked for and been involved with the CII for many years.

FREE to all CII/PFS members including those that are new to the Industry.

Who should attend?

Anyone who has worked in general insurance for a few years and wishes to have a greater awareness of the scope of cover of professional indemnity policies and why this insurance protection may be worthwhile.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the session, delegates will be able to

• Identify the types of client that may need professional indemnity (PI) insurance;
• Recognise how a professional person might incur such liabilities;
• Appreciate through case studies how an insurer might view specific trades;
• Identify, through examples, typical policy wordings, insuring clauses and conditions;
• Identify the usual PI extensions and exclusions within the market;
• Appreciate the correlation of a PI policy with other insurances, including D & O etc.
• The session will also include a brief overview of cyber and data security protection.
