Graham is a director of Intralex Ltd. He has worked for over 30 years in the insurance industry, providing training and consultancy services throughout the UK and on the rare occasion, abroad. Graham has worked for and been involved with the CII for many years.

Who should attend?

Anyone who wishes to gain a greater understanding of the area of management liabilities, by reference to insurance brokers.

Specifically, the session may appeal to those who participate in the management of a department within an insurance broker’s office, or simply wish to understand how insurance brokers' liabilities may arise and steps to take to minimise any such exposures.

Course Content

This interactive session will cover the following aspects:
•An outline of common law duties of an insurance broker, as both a professional and agent
•Clarification of broker’s duties prior to and once insurance is in place
•A review of the Insurance Act 2015 and other recent legislative and regulatory changes.
•An outline of the usual reasons for exposure to potential liabilities.
•A consideration of future changes that may impinge upon an insurance broker’s duties.
•Hints and tips on how to manage duties and minimise errors and omissions.
