The Insurance Institute of Manchester has links with many other organisations, some of which are listed here as they may be useful for our members.

Gibraltar Insurance Institute (GII) The newest insurance institute (GIB), now twinned with the oldest insurance institute, the Insurance Institute of Manchester (IIM) which was formed in 1873. Manchester Liability Society (MLS) is a great resource for lunchtime CPD lectures in Manchester. The society has been part of the Insurance Institute of Manchester's CPD programme and lectures were free to our members. Due to a shrinking committee, the society no longer has a programme from 2023. Any queries should be directed to the CPD committee.

Manchester Claims Association (MCA) is a membership organisation open to Claims Managers of insurance companies, Loss Adjusters and other claims handling operations based in and around Greater Manchester. Founded eighteen years ago, the Association provides a forum for Claims Managers to discuss matters of mutual interest involving the local market, or claims handling generally. Manchester Law Society with 2,300 members and associated members, you're part of a strong and vibrant community for the legal profession in the Manchester region. Association of British Insurers (ABI) is the trade body for insurance companies in the UK. The Association has around 400 companies in membership. Between them, they provide around 90% of domestic insurance services sold in the UK. ABI member companies also account for almost 15 per cent of investments in the London stock market. The British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) is the UK 's leading general insurance organisation representing the interests of insurance brokers, intermediaries and their customers. BIBA membership includes 1700 regulated firms, Insurance brokers and intermediaries distribute nearly two-thirds of all UK general insurance. In 2007, insurance brokers and intermediaries generated £1.5 billion of invisible earnings and they introduce £22 billion of premium income into London 's insurance market each year.
