Graduate Work Experience Programme 2016
Try out a University of Salford student or graduate on work experience for 70 hours and receive funding to pay them £7 per hour.
The University of Salford is offering a Graduate Work Experience Programme which concludes with a 70 hour paid placement opportunity. The programme is open to final year students and graduates who are currently/facing being unemployed or underemployed (in work not requiring a degree), who are in need of experience in a working environment within their field of study and/or area of career aspirations.
Take advantage of a payment of £490 from the University of Salford to try out a student or graduate for 70 hours over one week or spread out overall several weeks on a part-time basis. This could be ideal to meet an immediate business need and to try out a potential recruit that you may want to retain beyond the initial work experience.
The programme will constitute three elements:
- Pre Placement Training and guidance
- Work Experience Placement
- Post Placement reflection and next steps.

Part-funded Student & Graduate Internship Programme 2015/2016
(This programme is aimed at SMEs (small or medium sized businesses) employing less than 250 people, with a turnover of £50 million or less)
The University of Salford has partnered with Santander to part-fund a number of 3-month paid internship opportunities for final year students, Masters Students and recent graduates within an SME. The University, with the support of Santander, will provide £1,500 of funding to an employer towards the students salary. If you are an SME and interested in providing an internship opportunity please read the information on the University of Salford's website to see if your business would qualify for part-funding.
In order to qualify for part-funding, the following terms and conditions will need to be met:
- As the employer, you will pay the student £3,000 over the three month internship period. The University of Salford, thanks to the support of Santander, will reimburse £1,500 towards the cost of employment.
- The student will be paid £6.85 per hour, working approx. 36.5 hours per week
- £1,500 will be reimbursed in three payments of £500 by invoicing the University on a monthly basis, issued after each full month of employment for the
