Rolling out Discover Risk to local school

The aim of the event was to bring careers to life by interacting with people who worked in lots of different areas, including border control, robotics and of course, insurance.

Eleanor Moore, C&C Insurance Brokers attended along with Brad Jackson from Catalyst Claims Management Ltd., Rebecca Vidler from Co-op Insurance and Mark Farrant from McLarens Loss Adjusters.

Eleanor tells us, "This was my first event of this nature but we soon settled into a routine of introducing ourselves, giving an overview of what insurance was in a way that they could relate to, asking for their input and playing the Discover Risk game".

"It was great to see the children starting to understand risk and exposure and there were a couple of teams who got all of the cards in the right place, which was very impressive. Some of the children started to think of their own examples and we talked them through in detail. This was very rewarding as it was a demonstration that they had fully understood what they had been taught".

Discover Risk really does communicate risk in an informative and fun way and the IIM Education Champions look forward to attending more events of this nature.
