Council vacancy - communications officer - volunteer opportunity available

The institute is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who work together to shape a local offering for members in their area.

Have you ever thought about supporting your local institute as a council volunteer? Maybe it’s time to consider how you can make a difference.

We are looking someone to help with our communications

The role of the communications officer is to ensure that details of the institute’s key events, activities, committees, and news updates are publicised and communicated appropriately to the membership and to the wider market, as necessary. Relevant training will be provided and you will work closely with the CIIs regional membership team – possibly helping you to develop an additional skill set away from your day job.

You can view a full overview of the role descriptor below.

Volunteering enhances your profile and develops you professionally

Eleanor Moore current president of the institute stated: “Sitting on the local institute council is a voluntary role and you're giving something back, but anyone who’s remotely career-minded can see the advantages – particularly from networking and for establishing your profile as an individual with talent and motivation locally. We meet as a council on a regular basis and helping to run the institute brings with it an array of benefits, whether through the reward of helping others, the opportunity to network with senior figures from the profession or the personal experiences you gain”.
