Insurance Act 2015 Panel Debate
Caught in the Act!
Next year sees the introduction of the greatest change to the balance of power between insurers and their commercial customers for 100 years.
When the Insurance Act 2015 comes into force on 12th August 2016, the duty of 'fair presentation' will replace the duty to disclose material facts. As a consequence, brokers will have to re-examine their sales and broking practices, and insurers their underwriting and approach to claims.
Should you be worried? YES!
Should you be complacent? NO!
Find out what the experts think and have you say too, in this exciting and interactive event.
Timings:
3.45 - 4.15pm: registration and coffee
4.15 - 5.45pm: panel debate
5.45 - 7.00pm: drinks and networking
Who should attend? Insurers, underwriters, claims staff, brokers, loss adjusters/assessors, those with a legal and compliance role and in fact anyone wanting to update their knowledge and awareness on the forthcoming changes and the implications.
Learning outcomes: At the end of this session delegates will be able to discuss the Insurance Act 2015 and its implications, as well as describing the practical steps they will have to take to comply.
This event is being held and by the Insurance Institute of Manchester and in association with Michael Howard and Nichola Evans of Browne Jacobson.
Parking: The hotel has a section of the NCP car park for guests which has 82 spaces which are subject to availability – if delegates pull up outside the hotel and go in and collect a parking pass from reception they will direct you to our entrance. It’s £16.00 for the 24hr rate, £8 for the daily rate. Once you pull out from the front of the hotel you will immediately sit at a set of traffic lights. You turn left at these lights and about 50 metres down to your left you will find our entrance. The car park barrier is on the right hand side once you have pulled in – if you put the pass into the machine it will lift the barrier, when you drive at the shutter it will open.
Speakers: Our panel will consist of the following six experts:
- Adrian Hurst, Head, Strategic Projects, Zurich
- Nichola Evans, Partner, Browne Jacobson
- Michael Howard, Partner, Browne Jacobson
- Peter Wilkinson, Group Claims Director, Hendersons Insurance Brokers
- Richard Hanson-James, Director, Thompson & Bryan, Chartered Loss Adjusters
- Mike Cranny, Director, Create Solutions Ltd
- Geoff Williams, Director, Hope & Williams Ltd
