This is 2 of 2 introduction to insurance sessions aimed at those new to the general insurance industry, to help them widen their knowledge of insurance and the industry.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this event, delegates will be able to identify:
• what is risk
• what underwriting involves
• how insurance claims are dealt with
• general insurance regulation including the FCA,FSCS,FOS plus a quick look at financial crime

Trainer Biographies
Roy Rodger has decades of experience in general insurance and worked for RSA for 35 years. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII) and a Chartered Insurer. Roy has been a valuable member of the team at Create Solutions for over 12 years and as a freelance consultant and trainer he has delivered specialist technical training in motor insurance issues all over the world including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Cyprus, Germany, Russia, Azerbaijan and Mauritius. In addition, Roy worked for the Motor Investigation Agency, where he was involved in investigating road traffic accidents and also worked on the Motor Insurance Database and the ABI Car Group Rating Panel.
Tracy Norton has many years’ experience working in financial services and over 10 years in international sales and marketing. She is CeMAP qualified and has a degree in French and German from Salford University, along with a Certificate in Management from the Open University. In addition to helping regulated firms implement effective compliant processes and procedures, Tracy also has extensive experience in helping firms and individuals apply for FCA authorisation and dealing with complex FCA enquiries, investigations and notification requirements, including RMAR returns on Gabriel and complex applications for Change in Control and Variation of Permission.
