The New Class - Session 5
This event is by invitation only to the successsful 16 candidates of 'The New Class 2015'.
This session will focus on public speaking by Megan Tanner of SureSpeech.
This course will introduce you to the skills to be an engaging, confident speaker. It provides techniques to overcome nerves, use voice and body language effectively, make the best use of slides and other props. Participants will have the opportunity to present and receive feedback. The session will be split into an introduction to public speaking and how to structure a speech or presentation.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
-recognise what makes an effective speaker
-use natural body language to engage an audience
-develop the intonation and clarity of the voice

-have more self-awareness
-understand 2 methods of structuring a speech
-structure presentations which engage an audience
-create and deliver a speech when given little time to prepare

Speaker Biography
Megan Tanner is a professional actress, vocal coach, Director of ‘From Vision 2 Voice’ and a SureSpeech public speaking trainer. As an actress Megan’s theatre work includes London’s West End, international tours and number one tours throughout the UK. As a vocal coach clients include actors, session singers, contracted recording artists and even teenagers entering X Factor. As a trainer Megan has delivered sessions on presentation skills and confidence across the UK and has recently run sessions at The Insurance Institute of Bristol, Croydon and The Insurance Institute of Ipswich, Suffolk and North Essex. She runs courses in both the public and private sector working with clients to hone their communication skills to make a positive impact.
