What the Autumn Statement Should Contain

The presentation will look at the current state of the UK economy and the challenges faced by UK businesses and consumers. Monetary policy and fiscal policy will be reviewed and options will be investigated to see what stimulus might be provided in the Autumn Statement. This will be done with the state of the global economy as a backdrop.

By the end of the event, delegates will be able to;
1. Describe the current challenges faced by UK businesses and consumers
2. Assess the options that are available to the Government and the Bank of England to stimulate the economy
3. Identify the opportunities for positive returns from several asset classes
4. Describe some of the challenges posed by Brexit
Speaker Biography
Des joined the financial services industry in 1973 and has held a number of senior positions with companies including Legal & General Investment Management, AVIVA and Aon. Whilst working at Legal & General, Des developed a close relationship with many of The City’s leading fund managers.
Des is a much sought after presenter and has presented at many key industry events including the International Life Insurance Association annual convention where he was a 'specialist speaker'.
As Managing Director of Fund Appraisal, Des provides independent research, asset allocation strategies and model portfolios to Independent Financial Advisers.
