Connected Home lecture with David Rowntree
This lecture will explore new technology and what really is a 'Connected Home'.

Speaker biography
David is a Senior P&C insurance professional with international experience in developed and emerging markets. David has an excellent strategic understanding with a strong technical underwriting and management experience. Highly experienced in portfolio management, product development across personal, commercial and corporate segments, and turning around unprofitable portfolios.
David joined Oak in December 2015 from Zurich Insurance where he led the technical development of the underwriting functions across all markets including HNW in the Middle East. David spent five years working in Dubai where he also held the position of Head of Personal Lines Underwriting (non-motor).
Prior to moving to Dubai David held a number of senior underwriting positions at Zurich Private Clients (ZPC) from 2003 to 2011.
David’s areas of interest include competitive strategy, new technology and disruptive innovation.

Speaker biography
Nigel Phillips is Commercial Director at insurance software house, CDL, and a member of the Executive Team. He has been instrumental in driving innovation at the company, with a current focus on creating consumer-centric, integrated InsurTech solutions.
He joined CDL as business strategist in 1997 and was instrumental in spearheading the development of online and aggregator solutions as these technologies were still emerging – a move which saw CDL become the UK’s leading provider of online quotation platforms. As a result, CDL continues to provide a platform for the most efficient and profitable insurance retail operations in the marketplace.
