Highlights of our 2024 Annual Dinner +photos!

Over 220 members and guests gathered at St James’ Park on Friday 18 October for our annual tradition, bringing together Newcastle’s insurance and financial services professionals, to celebrate our achievements collectively and to recognise a few specific individuals.

We were joined by members and guests from other local insurance institutes and professional bodies. The CII Chair, Helen Phillips, gave a warm and positive speech on behalf of the CII.

In his speech our president, Omar Din, outlined his theme ‘progression’ for his term, stating, “I love the saying ‘Progression, not Perfection’” and emphasised that “sometimes we may feel like we are standing still but we continue to adapt to the ongoing changes we find ourselves in, all of which is progression!”.

Awards were presented to this year’s Prize Winners:

Cass Prize (Diploma in Financial Planning) – Ian Rutherford

Maddocks Prize (Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning) – Jessica Bates

Audrey Gough Prize (Diploma in Insurance) – Sarah May Fielding

Logan Prize (Advanced Diploma in Insurance) – Thomas John Barton (unable to attend in person)

The Deputy President Young Achiever of the Year Award went to Amy Goldsbrough

Thank you to the table hosts and their guests, and to all those who made donations to and for the raffle. We raised a generous total of £3,044.75 for Daft As A Brush Cancer Patient Care, which is a registered charity No.328432. Brian Burnie, the founder of the charity, gave an inspiring speech in which he shared his spirit for giving, an ethos passed on from his parents, “it is better to give than receive”.

Here’s a selection of photos which capture the vibrant atmosphere of this year’s event!
