Speaker: David Blunt, Head of the Conduct Specialists Department in Supervision, FCA
Learning Objectives By the end of the session delegates will be able to explain:
• The FCA’s cross-sector priority of firms’ culture and governance
• The FCA’s approach to culture and our role as a regulator
• Accountability 2 – the Senior Managers & Certification Regime, and the Conduct Rules
• FCA expectations towards oversight of appointed representatives
Biography: A key area of activity for his department is helping to deliver the FCA’s priority of governance and culture at firms, including the implementation and embedding within Supervision of the accountability regime for all FCA regulated firms. David’s department also leads on financial promotions and consumer contracts issues for Supervision Division.
David has been at the FCA/FSA since 2000 where his roles have included heading of the investment banks department in Supervision Division for two years and a variety of roles in the Markets and Enforcement divisions. Prior to joining the FSA, David worked at the London Stock Exchange in its Listing Division. David trained as a solicitor and worked at Lovells (now Hogan Lovells) from 1992-1998 where he specialised in commercial litigation involving banks and other financial services firms.

Speaker: Damian Glynn BA(Hons) FCA FCILA FUEDI ELAE FIFAA, Head of Financial Risks, Vericlaim
Biography: Damian chairs the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) Business Interruption group, and has previously set business interruption examinations for the CILA. He regularly runs financial loss seminars throughout the UK and is a published author on the subject of business interruption, including co-chairing a widely read report on BI wordings issued by CILA and the IIL/CII (Chartered Insurance Institute). Damian represents both policyholders and insurers, and acting as an expert in commercial disputes.

Speaker: Mark Hawksworth, Global Technology Specialist Practice Group Leader, Cunningham Lindsey
Learning Objectives By the end of the session delegates will be able to explain:
• Evolution of cyber risks
• The rise of social engineering
• Digital currency
• Case studies
Biography: Mark heads up Cunningham Lindsey’s Global Technology Practice and has been an adjuster for 25 years. He has experience of technology/cyber claims spanning over 20 years dealing with claims, both in the UK and Internationally.
Mark specialises in handling large and complex incidents and regularly provides market feedback to brokers and underwriters in relation to policy and trending issues. He has also published a number of articles in the Insurance press on Cyber related issues, as well as presenting. Mark is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, Chartered Loss adjuster and Chartered Engineer.
