Introduction to Insurance for Lawyers
Certain lawyers have an insurance practice and may work for insurance companies defending liability claims, many others may not have an insurance practice but will often encounter insurance for instance when negotiating a lease, or a bank facility agreement, a commercial contract, a construction contract or licensing agreement, a sale and purchase agreement – the list goes on?
In this lunch time workshop - Neil Park provides an overview of insurance for lawyers identifying the principal insurance policies, some common jargon and areas of insurance contracts which are often of most importance to lawyers.

· Main types of commercial insurances purchased by businesses - what do they cover
· Operation of first and third party policies
· Common insurance terminology and jargon
· Which insurances are required to protect customers in what context
· Additional insureds/Co insureds/Joint insureds/Interest noted the differences
· Do liability insurance policies cover contractual liability?
· What is not covered – common exclusions
Neil is an experienced trainer and consultant currently working in the insurance industry in the United Kingdom and internationally delivering workshops in technical insurance, broking and negotiation skills. He also trains and support candidates taking their Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma examinations.
