History

The Insurance Institute of Croydon was founded in 1933 as the Croydon Centre of The Insurance Institute of London and became an institute in its own right in 1949.

We represent the interests of the insurance and financial services community in the area. This stretches from Sidcup in the east to beyond Sutton in the west. Our southern boundary is Redhill and we go north to beyond Streatham, bordering on the London Institute, including the major connurbations of Croydon, Bromley, Reigate & Redhill and Sutton.

In 2014, we rebranded to The North Downs Insurance Institute to reflect our geographical spread.

Our neighbouring Institutes are; Brighton, Guildford, Reading, London, Mid-kent and Royal Tunbridge Wells.
