FCA GI Consumer Duty and Multi-Occupancy update

Consumer Duty has been with us for over a year now an we will look at its implications, and an update on fair value assessments to include what makes up broker commissions and how to ensure broker costs are fully understood. We will also look at the new rules on multi-occupancy buildings insurances following intervention by the government. Insurers and brokers will also need to provide information about policies to leaseholders, including details of all remuneration and placement. We will also cover the requirements imposed by the new Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act which will ban commission sharing.

During the evening, - Anna Knight will share her expertise in fire investigation from the initial instruction, investigating the scene and identifying root cause; - Ian Major undertakes investigations into the cause and spread of fires and will discuss how the extent of fire damage is influenced by poor design or construction; and - Niralee Casson will discuss potential building defects and how she can ascertain where the responsibility lies and if there are prospects for recovery.

Talking is good for us. We all know that and yet some of us find it hard to talk about how we feel, especially when we aren’t feeling good. This session is aimed at men and those who would like to support the men in their lives. The aim of the session is to shine a light on why some men find it difficult to open up, to explore ways to support men when they are struggling and to share some alternative ways to process difficult stuff, for those who really don’t like talking. In this interactive session, attendees will develop an understanding of some of the challenges facing men today and will take away some helpful ways to support men (or themselves) through difficult times.
