Event Overview

This session will look at the new General Data Protection Regulation and consider some of the key changes and practical challenges as we consider the likely impact of the new rules on the way we do business

  • Have an awareness of the main areas of change in the legislation and the impact

  • Understand the implications for data processors and the changing relationship with controllers

  • Making use of privacy by design and privacy impact assessments

  • To set out steps to compliance

Speaker profile

David Parker is the Privacy Director for Crawford & Company and leads the organisation on privacy related matters across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific working with the Risk & Compliance Group. David came from a claims background having previously worked in loss adjusting before moving into risk and compliance some 13 years ago. He has presented at CILA and local CII institutes and written for the Post Magazine on privacy matters.
