Grosvenor Grammar School Careers Fair 2018

Michael Boyd, Account Broker at Gallagher’s & Career Officer for the Insurance Institute of Northern Ireland, reflects on the day.

Armed with some new material, our aim for the day was to raise awareness of the huge range of careers available within the insurance industry and sell it as something to aspire to rather than fall into.

We set up our table in the hall and were then provided with a delicious lunch in the school canteen.

Over 20 exhibitors were in attendance, representing both universities and a wide range of careers from the armed forces to local councils.

All in all the day proved to be a great success and we are really looking forward to planning our next event.

A special thank you to volunteers from Locktons, Cameron Knell, Jonny Ennis and Naomi Morrow who were able to provide invaluable first hand experience on their introduction to a career in insurance through Lockton’s Apprenticeship Scheme.
