Grand Opera ‘Behind the Curtain’ Young Members Tour
The Insurance Institute of Northern Ireland is happy to announce that their next event will be a Grand Opera ‘Behind the Curtain’ Young Members Tour.
The Grand Opera House in Belfast was first opened in December 1895, it was designed by prolific theatre architect of the period Frank Matcham.
It underwent extensive renovations in 2006, which added the Baby Grand performance area, extended foyers and extended stage wings.
The ‘Behind the Curtain Tour’ will take you through the behind the scenes workings of the theatre while a production set is on stage.
You will be able to see the working set of the hit West End play The Kite Runner. It will also give you an opportunity to access a large-scale risk and look at the Grand Opera House from an insurance perspective. What would be the biggest risks? How long would it take to re-build? What risks are there when the set is being set up and deconstructed.
