Get to Know Your Council - January Release
Name: Hannah Green
Occupation/Industry Experience:
My involvement in the insurance industry started back in 2013 when I joined Marsh in Norwich. I spent 3 years in their Fiduciary department reconciling client, market and intercompany ledgers, before moving across to their Risk Management Practice in July 2016. I am currently a Client Adviser, contributing to the day-to-day management of multinational insurance programme for global clients.
How long have you been on the Insurance Institute of Norwich’s Council?
I joined the IIN in September 2018.
What is your role, and what does it involve?
I don’t think I have a formal title for my role as such, although I am responsible for the social media communications for the IIN. My role is focused on managing our social media platforms (LinkedIn and Facebook), keeping it up to date with all relevant professional development, social and networking events and maximizing engagement with our members.
With a focus on engagement this year, and COVID-19 forcing change in how we currently engage and interact with members, I have rolled out and coordinated a number of initiatives, such as this one (Know Your Council), the quarterly newsletter and the IIN’s monthly LinkedIn polls.
I am also part of the IIN’s New Professionals Group.
Why did you decide to join the Council?
Joining the council presented a great opportunity to meet new people locally within the industry and help support what the local institute has to offer, in terms of their programme and fundraising efforts. I have taken advantage of the CII resources so far in my career and felt I wanted to give something back.
I would actively encourage anyone considering joining the Council to reach out, and find out more. When I joined the council, I was met with such a warm welcome and it has been great to learn and draw on the experience/knowledge from other council members, who I probably would not have met otherwise.
What are you most looking forward in the forthcoming year on the Council?
We obviously have not started the year as everyone would have hoped, given the news of the latest national lockdown, but I am still hopeful some form of normality will resume in 2021! I am looking forward to continuing to connect with our members and promote the opportunities/events the Council has to offer.
