Get to Know Your Council - August Release
Name: Danielle Norman
Occupation/Industry Experience:
I have worked for Marsh for almost 5 years now. I started in an admin role for Aviation, then was approached to become a Processing Technician for Specie (Fine Art, Jewellery, Cash in Transit etc) which I fell in love with and knew I wanted to become a Broker within Specie. I worked as a Client Manager in Specie and in September of 2022, I became a Broker within Specie, which is very interesting!
How long have you been on the Insurance Institute of Norwich’s Council?
Not very long at all, I joined the council in May 2023, after attending the AGM as a guest.
What is your role, and what does it involve?
I don’t have a role at the moment, and am still learning what the roles include and how the dynamics work, although from the few meetings I’ve been do, a social/dinner type role would be something I’d be interested in.
Why did you decide to join the Council?
I decided to join the council because I got my Cert CII qualification at the end of last year and am working on my personal and professional development. Joining a local council of insurance professionals seems like a fitting way to achieve that development, especially with the networking and the CPD which is available.
What are you most looking forward to in the forthcoming year on the Council?
Similar to the above, I am looking forward to networking with other insurance professionals and getting an idea of other areas of insurance. From the meetings I’ve been to, the council members seem like a great bunch of people and so it would be good to know everyone better.
Tell us one unusual fact about yourself
One unusual fact about myself is that my eyes change colour, between blue, grey and green. Apparently, they go green when I’m tired, so if you see me with green eyes…. maybe I need a coffee! ☺
