Name: Jack Holmes

Occupation/Industry Experience:

I currently work as a Client Service Executive for WM Capital Management and Watson Moore IFA, where I have worked for 4 years. Before this, I worked in part time roles while studying. With my time split between the Financial Advice and Investment Management sides of each business, I found that from the start my role was very interesting and rewarding.

How long have you been on the Insurance Institute of Norwich’s Council?

I have only recently joined the council in July 2023, so I’m still very new here.

What is your role, and what does it involve?

I currently manage the Insurance Institute of Norwich website and email system – meaning I will be adding my own piece to the website myself! I add any events, news items, and send emails to members sharing the brilliant events that are available to attend.

Why did you decide to join the Council?

I’ve been working as a volunteer on the website since 2021 so it made perfect sense to join the council, to help out wherever possible and have my voice heard.

What are you most looking forward to in the forthcoming year on the Council?

I’m looking forward to attending future Council Meetings, meeting the members who I’ve been speaking to for 2+ years over email, and attending the Annual Dinner of course

Tell us one unusual fact about yourself

I was once held in an interrogation room by TSA agents at San Francisco Airport for 6 hours, while they waited for the UK authorities to wake up and confirm that I wasn’t a member of a terrorist organisation… I was only 15 years old and the suspect they were looking for was 34 years old with the same name. It was for sure an experience I’ll never forget, mainly for missing a Baseball game I was excited for.
