Inheritance Tax

We will demystify the rules of the Finance (No 2) Act 2015 which introduced the residence nil rate band which, if satisfied, enables individuals to pass an additional £175,000 to the next generation tax free. Delegates will be taken through worked examples to see how the legislation applies. Particularly tricky areas such as the downsizing provisions and taper relief will be considered. Learning outcomes: Delegates will be equip with knowledge of the RNRB to enable them to have meaningful conversations with clients about tax planning using the RNRB. Finally, the seminar will highlight the practical points delegates should bear in mind when giving tax planning advice using the RNRB. What lifetime planning can clients do now to secure the relief? On death, how can clients ensure their estate will qualify for the relief,?

SME Cyber Risks

An outline of the types of risks to data that SMEs are exposed to. In particular we examine the different methods are used to take data from an organisation, with particular reference to small business. We then go on to examine the methods used within insurance to combat this both from a pro-active and a re-active perspective as well as how this will change with the introduction of European legislation this year. Finally, we will look at the barriers to sale of a cyber insurance policy and some good examples of questions that need to be asked of small businesses when they’re examining their insurance need.
