All Change For Pensions?
Session Overview
Just when we thought the endless stream of new pensions legislation might be slowing down it seems all bets are off again. The BREXIT effect will impact pension not just via interest rates and investment returns but also as a result of the new political order. We have a new Prime Minister, a new chancellor and a new (junior) Pensions minister.
This presentation will look at the challenges facing pensions in the UK, the results of government strategy since 2006 and the options open for the new regime to encourage retirement savings.
Learning outcomes:
• An understanding of the strategic challenges facing UK pensions
• An overview of government policy decisions in the last 10 years and their effect on retirement savings – planned or otherwise
• Identification of the remaining challenges and an awareness of how the new government might legislate to deal with them
